The following projects illustrate how powerful and effective Digital Way Finding is as a means of directing people to a certain location. From shopping malls to hospitals and airports, the Wayfinder is hugely customisable and reliably robust for any project.

Used at a medium-sized shopping centre north of London, UK. Includes automatically updated news, weather and traffic feeds. Uses 2 large format (65” portrait) interactive pods (see www.espritdigital.com) and includes live information and advertising.

Used at a single-story premium Shopping outlet in Gloucester, UK. Easily updateable store directory provides people with easily searchable store map. Also includes loyalty pre-payment card balance lookup (like checking your card balance at an ATM). Uses 6 large format (52” portrait) interactive pods (see www.espritdigital.com) and includes live information and advertising from the site’s own website data RSS feed.

Used at a large airport north of London, UK. Provided in the secure side (i.e. after passport control) of the airport terminal. This system uses 2 portrait kiosk and 1 landscape format kiosk (for DDA compliance). Providing a range of facilities, including Directory based wayfinding (includes transit times to gates), searchable destinations system, and also includes feedback forms (to let people make comments about the airport and it’s facilities – this is then automatically emailed to Customer Services) and other terminal information.

Designed for very large hospital, UK. Provides many of the features highlighted in this website. Includes a mixture of large format interactive pods (includes advertising) and smaller kiosks for the main wayfinder system with Fast access buttons to quickly find common destinations (e.g. toilets, cafe, etc), Quick search system for people to quickly type in their chosen destination, and barcode scanners (to read the barcode from appointment letters and patient wristbands). Also uses Guide Points located around the hospital and web interface for people to use at home prior to their visit, and via phone interface when they arrive. Includes routing engine to calculate each route as required (based upon current closures of parts of the Hospital), 3D and 2D route generation and also includes self-check in facility which also advises visitors if they will be late for their appointment including transit time.
Small Shopping Centre in UK. Used for information and advertising, Digital Signage in Shopping Malls is almost a necessity nowadays. Our Digital Signage for Shopping Malls (powered by Acquire – see www.acquiredigital.com) is designed with wayfinding in mind. Advertising for stores or services within the mall automatically create location based messages alongside the advertisements. Each Screen can therefore play a different message (showing different directions) depending upon the location of the screen to the store/service without the person responsible for placing the adverts doing any further work. Customers stood next to the screens can see the advertising and the ‘call to action’ message directing them to the store.
